Still find myself almost three years later having flashbacks to a bad church situation. No longer serving in church setting with little interest in ever returning to church. Thanks for the article.

Great comment.

I really like the sound of the band. However and unfortunately, musicians don't always make the best theologians. The writer paraphrases lines from Psalm 46, 139 and Romans 8 to convey the idea,“don’t worry; everything will work out just fine”, at least to those that love God. But as we know, that doesn't always happen. Tragedy and sorrow still happens.

At the same time, I really do believe that God takes all the experiences in our life and provides opportunity for them to be used as a stepping stone in what God has purposed for us. "Our good" really needs to be God's good first.

I'm not clear on the statement, "it may well be grounded...". Not sure what he's referring to.

Thanks for the comment

I like your take on this. The verse seems to be paraphrased in a Jesus Culture song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoezWBPGRAc) as "You make all things work together for my good" — which strikes me as something of a shift in the focus of this verse. I wonder what your take would be on this lyric: it may well be grounded on theology elsewhere?

Thanks for the encouragement. It's coming 5 years since my abusive experience and while I am doing quite well, symptoms can return at times.

dear gary,
Great article, I am beginning to get information on my Doctoral Thesis which is PTSD and Pastoral care. I am a Health Care Chaplain and have written on GAS syndrome, stress and healing. Your synopsis of "Bullying" is a great prespective of what happens in a chruch leadership enviorment. I look foreward in reading more of your commentarys.

Hi i have review, i actually found this post from another christian bullying website, i think alot of what dr greenberg talked about actually reflect my experiences ( i am not a pastor, only a congregationer, but alot of things he talked about are the same", though if i can suggestion, is that in the post, you explained a very real need for church to come up with a system to deal with such behaviours, which in my opinion, is not happening, and i am glad you raised this issue, but wondering before that oould be fully implemented, it might be helpful to have a post on how to help victims let go of the hatred that they cant help but carry, for example, in my case, in the past few years since it happened to me, i have been carrying this burden everyday, eventhough i realise i need to drop it, for my sake, because i sort of realized this hate is destroying whatever is good left in my life.

The CCSVI Liberation Treatment could be the cure but fact remains that the rate of re-occlusion is stuck at 50% and MS patients being treated in the European and Asian countries end up suffering as they did, 3 months ago. While Big Pharmaceutical Corporations and governments in the US and Canada are coming up with new ideas to stop any advancements to the CCSVI theory (Like the superbugs, etc.), millions continue to travel to countries like India and Poland to get this simple procedure and no valuable data is recorded to support the CCSVI theory. Unless we get our position strong enough to support the CCSVI Theory, we will never be able to beat the Pharma Corporations or start the treatment here and many will keep suffering and dying even after having the procedure done. I lost my elder brother last month because of a blood clot in his stent. He got liberated 5 months ago in Poland. We need to prove to the government that this works. Non-profit organizations like the CCSVI Clinic http://www.ccsviclinic.ca/ are tirelessly working to develop safer protocols with teams of world renowned surgeons even though they are feeling the negative pressure from you know who. This Atlanta based Organization has started Clinical Trials for CCSVI and we need to support these groups because they are our only hope to fight for the truth. Without the valuable data that they are collecting offshore, the procedures will not be allowed here, in our own countries.

Glad you let me know Lori. It's sad about our Canadian medical system. Basically every medical practitioner operates in their own bubble. Of course one group will tell you one thing and another something completely different.

In Los Cabos the surgeon, radiologist, neurologist work together. I felt confident that together they made the best prognosis.

Very interesting about the vascular dementia. I know what's that like. Because my gp was talking about vascular dementia, I thought that a referral to a vascular specialist would be a natural next step. When I began to push he started to back off his previous diagnosis.

However, since I've had the treatment he has changed his perspective on the treatment, at least to me, and is willing to treat me. However, I don't think i'll be seeing a Canadian Vascular specialist any time soon.
