I have Secondary Progressive MS and have lived with the disease for twenty seven years. I have been under the care of a physician and neurologist for the past thirteen years. To this day, the only treatment that I have received is medication to relieve pain. Every two weeks, $300 is spent at the Pharmacist. I take high levels of…
What if…events get you stressed
Today’s Bible reading for me was John 14, 15John 14, 15

Jesus knew something about this emotion because he had been there numerous times while on this earth. In John 11:33John 11:33

To be honest I was glad to hear that Jesus got all “troubled”. At least we can stroke off this emotion from being a sin.
More important is the solution that Jesus was providing. He knew that the upcoming events of His crucifixion would be a horrific experience for the disciples.
In the past year we’ve all had our world shaken in some degree or other. It takes place in organizations, homes, families, our bank accounts and in person lives. What I’ve noticed too often is that we ignore Jesus’ solution. We run with our own ideas in lieu of the perfection of God.
Here’s Jesus’ solution: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you” (John 14:26John 14:26

God has provided the Christian with a personal 24/7 helper. The Holy Spirit is personally ours to help guide us in the right direction whether they be in attitude, plans or correction.
The problem is that we are not willing to do the one thing required of us. It is developing a relationship with God. The first step is coming to him in humility and surrender. We would rather have Jesus come to us and listen to our plan.
Here’s my point: We will never benefit from the counsel of the Holy Spirit while on the run and doing what we think is best. We have to stop running on empty.
Have you recently heard the voice of the Holy Spirit? I know that he has been talking to you. Has your life been too loud to hear? Then accept Jesus gift in John 14:27John 14:27

Oh…you’ll have to stop to receive the gift.
